Elisabeth Klement

… is an Estonian graphic designer based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Working both from her own initiative as well as commission based. She has graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie graphic design department and Critical Studies department at Sandberg Instituut. Since 2011 together with Pieter Verbeke she runs art and design book shop San Serriffe in Amsterdam. In the summer of 2014 they curated The Study Room at the 26th International Biennial of Graphic Design Brno 2014. In the summertime together with Laura Pappa she organises the annual Asterisk Summer School in Estonia which is focusses on exploring the multitudes of practices relating to graphic design. In 2015 she launched the publication series Apparition of the Ampersand, which aims to define the extended field of the practice of graphic design through interviews and writings by practitioners working in the fringes of the discipline. She currently teaches at the graphic design department at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam.
